A research study published in 2023 examined the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines specifically in Alaska Native / American Indian (ANAI) peoples. It showed that vaccines were very effective at preventing severe COVID-19 disease and hospitalization in ANAI peoples. Vaccination in ANAI communities reduced the number of people who became severely sick or hospitalized from COVID-19.
